Carl Sandburg Home, a National Historic Site, is within walking distance. Mr. Sandburg was an American poet, historian, author, and two time Pulitzer Prize award winner. Sandburg spent his final 22 years at his farm here in Flat Rock. Tour his home that houses his collection of 10,000 books.

DuPont State Forest is located ten minutes from us and is known for its many waterfalls and hiking trails. A great place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the day.

Pisgah National Forest is about twenty minutes from us and is known for Sliding Rock swimming area, Pink Beds Azalea Gardens, the first school of forestry, waterfalls, mountain biking, and nature trails.
